If you want to make it so that you can have as minimal a negative impact on the world as possible at any given point in time, it is absolutely imperative that you at the very least consider recycling in some way, shape or form. A big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that recycling can result in a situation wherein human beings start to consume less and instead repurpose various materials so that their lifespan can be extended to one extent or another.

As long as it has not degraded in overall quality and so far as there is no rot that can harm your physical health, any item that you have on your person can be used for a purpose that is similar to or even vastly different from what it was initially meant for when it had first ended up being created.
For example, if you have a milk carton that you are finishing using, you can cut off the top, fill it with soil and some seeds and turn it into a potted plant. It would look truly gorgeous and as if that wasn’t already enough it would help you to create a world where not all that much gets thrown away. This is just one thing that you can do.
